Cinnamon Apples and Porkchops

Wow! I started this blog on Christmas Eve 2008 and just today hit my 100th post! Sadly, I don't have any great giveaways :( but please head on over to Le Quaintrelle's for her awesome Girl Power Giveaway.

Aaron stayed late at work, but is on his way now. Dinner smells so good. I made up a new recipe tonight as he wanted porkchops this week and I get tired of fixing stuff the same way.

Cinnamon Apples and Porkchops

4 boneless pork loin chops
2 T. butter
3 T. brown sugar
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 t. ground nutmeg
1/4 t. salt
4 medium-size tart apples
2 T. chopped pecans

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook pork chops in 1 T. butter for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Remove chops and keep warm. Add the apples, pecans, brown sugar mixture and remaining butter to the pan; cook and stir until apples are tender Serve with chops. Enjoy - dinner and dessert in one pan!
