Strawberry Shortcake

2 C. Flour
4 t. Baking Powder
3/4 t. Salt
1 T. Sugar
2 T. Butter
2T. Shortening
3/4 C. Half and Half
Buttered, melted to brush top of shortcake

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in butter and shortening. Mix in half-and-half.

Drop by large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg. Bake at 450* for 15 minutes or until brown. OR pour into a greased pie pan and bake for 15 minutes, until golden and a knife comes out clean.

Serve warm with a pat of butter, sugared strawberries and a splash of milk.
